At least 56 Bangladeshis have died from the Covid-19 infection in the US so far, while 200 Bangladeshis have tested positive for the disease.
Among the 56, 15 Bangladeshis were in New York, reported RTV.
In the last 24 hours, at least 18 Bangladeshi nationals died in the US, the report says.
Worldometer, in its live update at 4:30pm on Friday, showed that the number of active Covid-19 cases in New York currently stands at 83,081, with 2,538 deaths.
Till now 93,053 people have tested positive for Covid-19, caused by a new strain of coronavirus, in New York.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) in Bangladesh confirmed five new cases of Covid-19 in Bangladesh till Friday, raising the total number of cases to 61.
Covid-19 has so far killed over 54,000 people in more than 200 countries and territories, including six in Bangladesh.
