AmarMP.com, a website aimed at bridging the gap between members of Bangladesh Parliament and citizens of their respective constituencies, was officially launched in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Created by a group of online activists to support all citizens in their understanding and exercise of rights granted by constitution of the country, the beta version of the site was launched in February last year.
Any citizen of certain constituencies can reach out to their respective MP through the website. More than 150 lawmakers are already on the platform.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division of the government helped creating the website, which was spearheaded by Engineer Sushanta Das Gupta.
State minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest at the launching ceremony. Deputy speaker of parliament Fazle Rabbi Miah, and lawmakers Dipu Moni and Sabina Akhter Tuhin were among those in attendance at the program.
