Youth Opportunities has won the best National Mobile Application (NMA) Award for its contribution to education and empowerment of young people.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the award to the co-founders of Youth Opportunities at Krishibid Institution on Thursday.
Youth Opportunities (YO) was selected for its contribution to education and for the empowerment of young people with free, easy and equal access to youth development related national and international opportunities.
All the winners from this national contest will be nominated for the World Summit Award 2017 to take part in the WSA-Mobile Global Contest.
National Mobile Application Award is an initiative to select and promote the best mobile content and innovative applications. The award was organised by the ICT Division of the Post & Telecommunication Ministry in collaboration with World Summit Mobile Award, Bangladesh and supported by Google Developer Group Sonargaon& Bangla.
International initiative Youth Opportunities has connected thousands of young people from more than 200 countries with different international opportunities ranging from scholarships, conference, workshops, internships since 2012.
The initiative previously received international awards including the Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and Forbes 30 Under 30 in Asia.
