Let’s take a look at new games coming out on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC this week
The month of July has already witnessed some great releases such as Red Faction: Guerrilla Remastered and Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor- Martyr. Keeping in line with the trend, this week is almost all about nostalgia trips.
You will be able to revisit much beloved games like Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. But, those who seek a new adventure will not disappointed, as Octopath Traveler is coming out on Switch next Friday.
Shining Resonance Refrain (July 10)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch
Sega released Shining Resonance on the PS3 exclusively on Japan back in 2014. This JRPG is making its western debut as Shining Resonance Refrain, and it's bringing some new content to the current generation.
According to Nintendo Life, the newly introduced “Refrain Mode” will present a totally separate "what if" side story, and you'll get two new party members in your repertoire.
And yes, you can date your party members.
20XX (July 11 on Xbox One/ July 17 on PS4 & Switch)

20XX took the Megaman fans on a nostalgia trip following its PC release back in August last year. This roguelike action platformer is hitting the consoles this week. 20XX features randomly generated levels, hardcore platforming, intimidating bosses and a permadeath system.
You can earn soul chips on every run, which can be used at the HQ for permanent upgrades that will gradually make your character an overpowered killing machine.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (July 11)
Platform: Xbox One
Another game of the fan favorite Warhammer series is hitting the console this week. A follow up to the Vermintide series, Vermintide 2 is a melee action co-op game featuring character specializations.
If you like brutal combat and teamwork, then look no further.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (July 13)
Platforms: Switch, 3DS
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which was originally launched for the Wii U console, is getting a rerelease for the Nintendo Switch.
The Switch version includes new miniature courses inspired by various Kingdoms featured in the Super Mario Odyssey. The game supports local co-op play by using a pair of Joy-cons.
A Nintendo 3DS version of the game, which includes stereoscopic 3D visuals and touch-screen controls, also being launched the same day.
Octopath Traveler (July 13)
Owners of the Nintendo Switch are getting their hands on a new JRPG this week titled Octopath Traveler. As the title suggests, this turn-based role playing game will start eight different protagonists, all with their distinctive stories.
This JRPG is highly recommended to those who love a deep, strategic turn-based combat with a layered battle system. The distinctive Square Enix touch can be found in every frame of Octopath Traveler, from the graphics to the musical score.
