Goodness gracious, those are ugly
Would you ever fork over $800 for a pair of sneakers? Of course not. And what if we were to tell you those same sneakers looked incredibly ugly – a dash of the 80s and 90s athletic, à la Payless. Demna Gvasalia has given an unexpected lifeline to those who have near to no sense in style with the new Triple S sneakers from Balenciaga. Over the past seasons, we’ve seen more emphasis on posh trainers and other sneakers alike on the runway for men. When these Triple S sneakers made its debut, observers really had no idea what to make of them. They aren’t really for hiking and don’t look too ideal for running either. The heel support and design is something completely radical, and we don’t mean in the flattering 1980’s teen slang either. The layered heel design adds a solid two inches to the bottom of the shoes, not to mention at least an inch away from the pull tab. However, this actually balances out the shoes because of its front-heavy material and designs, leaving it for a much more premium feel for your feet. The fact, however, remains: these things are straight ugly. This really comes down to the old, “You ain’t gotta spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks.” It just goes to show that when it comes to a certain style of shoe, it should be more about function rather than pretty characteristics. So whatever beat-up pair of running shoes you have in your closet or lying around are good enough, gentlemen. Just as long as they are functional and to a certain extent comfortable, you’re good to go. High chances are that your worn-in, dirty shoes will look as good as those Balenciaga sneakers. Don’t take every little trend to heart; especially those that immediately question their existence in the first place
