On its second international tour, The Imran Ahmed Trio, a jazz group from Bangladesh, has recently played in Poland and performed in a number of shows, receiving “massive response.”

The trio finished the tour at the end of August, during which it played in Krakow, Warsaw, and Zory. It also performed live on the Polish national radio.

The band played its entire setlist at the first concert in Krakow.

At the festival in Zory the band played to a ‘massive response’ from the audience and came back for an encore.

While at Zory, the band also conducted a workshop along with local musicians at the Zory Music Institute, where the members talked about their music and the music scene in Bangladesh. The group also jammed with fellow festival performers.

At Warsaw Imran Ahmed Trio performed at a fully packed Bardzo Bardzo, a premium live music club in the city. The Bangladesh ambassador in Poland Mahfuzur Rahman, along with his wife were special guests at the show.

At Trojka, the national radio station of Poland, the band performed a long 90-minute set and got an ‘extraordinary’ response from the crowd.

The performance at Trojka was recorded on analog recording system and videotaped professionally with 6 cameras. The band plans to put out a DVD of this performance.

This was the group’s second international tour after its tour of Germany and Malaysia last year.

The trio has been performing actively in Bangladesh for the last five years and emerged as the first full blown jazz music group in the country.

The band consists of Imran Ahmed on composition and guitar, Mohaimin Karim on the bass and Arjo Shrestho on the drums.

For the tour in Poland, the band was supported by Bangladeshi music channel Gaan Bangla and the embassy of Bangladesh in Poland. The tour was put together by Polish organization Jazz Po Polsku.
