The InterContinental Dhaka

An overview of the dining establishments at InterContinental Dhaka

Nestled in the beating heart of Dhaka city, is a glittering piece of property with a legacy of hospitality that ties in with our political history.  It’s something old, something new, something strangely familiar, and yet unexplored. This is the InterContinental Dhaka, which very recently made a triumphant return to the country after a three-decade hiatus.

Step through the doors, and feel the bustle of the city slide right away as you are welcomed into the rarified air and plush interior. A sophisticated palette of ivory, charcoal, with warm metallic tints, brightened by unexpected pops of colour, instantly draws the eye in as you make your way to the dining establishments, of which there are four.

Café social

Quiet corridors open up to a bright, spacious atrium, with a towering counter in warm wood, under an eye-catching art installation made up of ceramic pieces. Café Social, the bistro outlet of the InterContinental Dhaka is a welcoming space where one can catch up over coffee, grab a quick snack, or even enjoy a few quiet moments alone in a cheery location. Sink into the comfiest seats in the city and sample some truly exquisite French bakery goods and freshly brewed coffee. The extensive menu also includes pasta and pizza, which can be customized as per your requirements by the chef at hand.

With a seating capacity of about 90 people, this is definitely the perfect location for a casual date, an informal hangout, or the quick refresher.

Operating hours: 6am – 11pm

OPUS LOUNGE

Drinks after work just got a classy update. The play of metal and glass give this bar and lounge the ultimate ambience of opulence. Tasteful music, an intimate atmosphere, an eclectic selection of beverages and a modest snack menu make Opus Lounge the place to come to if you want to seal the deal, celebrate a new milestone, or let your hair down and unwind after a hectic day.

Operating hours: 5pm – 1am

AQUA DECK

If the great indoors are getting to you, step outside to the Aqua Deck and let the soothing natural elements revive you. At daytime, the sky reflected against the calming waters of the infinity pool that seems to leap over the green vistas, is a sight to calm the senses. At night, the lapping waters and the open sky make for an ambience of perfect serenity. Climb into one of the cozy private booths and let all the tensions melt away.

The poolside restaurant offers great music, and an assortment of craft mocktails, salads, and fast food. This locale is the one whose main agenda is to relax you.

Operating hours – 10am – 10pm

Elements

When good food is your main concern, Elements is where you go. During daytime, the plentiful natural lighting will brighten up your experience; at night-time, in the evenings, the spacious, airy setting is just as conducive to a fantastic dining experience.

With four live stations and an extensive buffet spread, you will find yourself spoiled for choices. Start with a delectable array of the freshest sushi and mouth watering appetizers, before you move on to the entrees and mains. Indian, Pan-Asian or Continental, there is something for everyone, and desserts galore and a chocolate fountain to end the meal on a sweet note. The menu is always adapting with seasons and special events, so no two dining experiences are the same.

Whether it’s a casual coffee date, a big business lunch, drinks after work, or RnR by the pool, InterContinental Dhaka has the perfect dining destination for you.
