Shakal Ahmed has directed a new comedy serial titled “Shantipurite Oshanti,” that will be telecast from tonight at Boishakhi TV. The serial will be shown at 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of every week.

The plot of the serial is set in a house named “Shantipuri.” The owners of the house Haque and his wife Ayesha Haque have been married for fifty years, and their children are currently abroad.

However, the serial will show from the very first scene that the relationship between the Haque couple has taken an extreme turn after so many years of marriage. The tenants of the house have left as they are tired of dealing with their fights. Haque rents a portion of his house to some bachelors to recruit some people for his cause against his wife. Ayesha retaliates by bringing home some girls from a nearby female hostel. How the two factions plot against each other will be the central storyline of the serial.

Shakal told Dhaka Tribune Showtime, “I would say, the shooting experience was very adventurous. Some shots had to be retaken due to bloopers, as each scene was that funny. It took quite some time to shoot this, but the whole experience was very entertaining. I would categorize the serial as comedy and satire.”

The drama will star Sabnam Faria, Nazia Haque Orsha, Tanzika Amin, Kajol Suborno, Afran Nisho, Arman Parvez Murad, Tushar Khan and many others.

The screenplay for the “Shantipurite Oshanti” was written by Mukto Nil, and the executive producer was Tuhin Barua.
