Ayub Bachchu was given a tribute on yesterday’s episode of Zee Bangla’s music program “Sa re ga ma pa.” The special episode featured song collage performed by many singers of Kolkata to commemorate the departed soul.

At the very beginning of the episode, the intro to “Shei tumi” was first played on a violin with a very sad tune. After that every contestants joined in the song collage.
Nobel told various media, “When I first heard the news of his death on October 18, I could not believe for two days. After that I attended his namaz-e-janaza.”
Whereas Anupam told reporters, “My college life began in 2000. Ayub Bachchu was my inspiration on those days. I covered his songs in many college programs and other cultural functions. I never thought we would have to perform his song like this.”
Ayub Bachchu passed away on October 18 at the age of 60. He suffered a heart failure in his own residence at around 8:30am, right after returning from a concert at Rangpur. As soon as his heart attack began, he was taken to Square Hospital, where at 9:55am the doctors declared him dead. His body was buried next to his mother’s grave in Chittagong’s Choitonno Goli graveyard.
