Trailer of ‘Debi’ finally released

The trailer of ‘Debi- Misir Ali Prothombar’ was finally released yesterday on the official Facebook page for the film and Jazz Multimedia YouTube channel at 8pm | Facebook

The caption for the trailer is written in Bangla which says, 'Nature is very strange. Some truths are kept hidden in its bosom with great compassion. We try to rationalize some of those mysteries, but should we fail to understand one, we call it a coincidence to forget about it. To bring these mysterious truths to life ‘Debi’ is coming to the silver screen. Misir Ali, Ranu, Nilu, Anis and Sabet are also coming'

The trailer of ‘Debi- Misir Ali Prothombar,’  - the most awaited screen adaptation, of Humayun Ahmed’s famed novel of the same title, was finally released yesterday on the official Facebook page for the film and Jaaz Multimedia YouTube channel at 8pm.

‘Debi’ will show Misir Ali for the first time on the silver screen, played by Chanchal Chowdhury. The film’s producer Jaya Ahsan will play the role of Ranu, the main character of this adaptation. 

The public relations executive of Jaaz Multimedia Shakib Hasan confirmed this news to Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime. Shakib also said that Rumman Rashid Khan is handling the public relations of “Debi” for Jaaz Multimedia.

The haunting trailer gives many glimpses of the story to give the viewers a tantalizing premise of the story. From the scenes shown on the trailer it can be surmised, that Chanchal Chowdhury’s Misir Ali is consulted for advice regarding Jaya Ahsan’s character Ranu, who seem to have the power to communicate with supernatural entities. As a subplot the film might also depict the existent skepticism shown by some people towards anything paranormal. 

The reaction from the fans of Misir Ali Series has been very positive towards the released trailer. Most are wishing the film good luck and expecting it to be a hit. Some people have openly proclaimed that their interest in the film was piqued due to the presence of the character Misir Ali.

The film will star Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Animesh Aich, Shabnam Faria, and Iresh Zaker. The script, dialogue and direction for the film were given by Anam Biswas.

The film has been produced by C Te Cinema with partial finance from a government grant.The film will be distributed by Jaaz Multimedia and will be released on October 19.
