Faridur Reza Sagar moves to Singapore for advanced treatment

Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar was taken to Singapore for better treatment after his survival of a chopper crash in Rajshahi's Godagari upazila on Thursday. 

The decision was jointly taken by the physician and Sagar’s family, said General Manager of Channel I program Amirul Islam.

“Due to the accident, a severe complication in his (Faridur Reza Sagar) bone has been detected. As a result, more tests are needed to be run for quick recovery.  His family members and doctors have reached the conclusion that to get rid of all these complications, Singapore will be the appropriate choice.” Amirul further added. 

Sagar was being treated at a hospital in Shyamoli, Dhaka. He was taken to Singapore by air ambulance yesterday evening.

According to a Channel i source, Faridur Reza Sagar and famous singer Ferdous Ara were travelling in an AHW helicopter to attend the prize distribution ceremony of Anwara Fahim Ziauddin Girls' High School in the Godagari upazila.

Godagari police station officer-in-charge Jahangir Alam said that after returning from the prize distribution ceremony, Faridur Reza Sagar along with other six people started their journey to Dhaka in the same helicopter. He referred to pilot Shakil as saying that when the helicopter was about 60 feet above the ground after the takeoff, there was a sudden jerk, lost control and crashed into the face of an under constructed house.

All the other passengers survived, some of them with minor injuries. They were sent to Dhaka by a Novoair flight after a primary treatment at the Godagari Health Complex on Thursday.
