Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated financial assistance for the medical treatment of noted Rabindra Sangeet artist Mita Haque, photojournalist Jalal Uddin Haider, and six other people.
These donation cheques were handed over at a function at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The prime minister gave a donation of Tk30 lakh to Mita Haque, who has been suffering from kidney problems for a long time.
On behalf of Mita Haque, her daughter Farin Khan Joyeeta received the donation cheque.
Sheikh Hasina also handed over a cheque of Tk20 lakh to ailing photojournalist Jalal Uddin Haider.
At this program, the prime minister distributed a total of Tk85 lakh for the subsistence and treatment of six other people who applied for financial assistance to the government.
