Bengal Foundation organizes classical music show 'Sunaad'

“Sunaad,” a classical music show by Bengal Foundation has been held from September 17 to 18 at Chhayanaut Auditorium in Dhaka. The first edition of this show was organized to showcase the talented students of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalaya. The students of the institute showcased their Khayal and Dhrupad along with Sarod, Setar, Esraj and Tabla performances.

The event was inaugurated with Bengal Foundation Chairman Abul Khayer giving sashes to the performers at the show. He said: “The result of our dreams to create the foundation is this Bengal Parampara Sangeetalaya, which has been running for four years. Two of our students from this institute recently have performed in India.  We are very happy and hope that we will be able to keep this event running each year.”

The program was moderated by Bengal Foundation’s Managing Director Luva Nahid Choudhury.

On the first day of the event, Bengal Parampara Sangeetalaya’s students Ishraful Jhurikhan, Ilhamful Jhurikhan, Saddam Hossain and Arefin Rony started off with their group Sarod performance. Supantho Majumdar and Ratan Kumar Das accompanied them on Tabla.

Later on, Shree Khayal was performed by the Sangeetalaya’s students - Mirajul Jannat Soniya, with Prahanta Bhoumik on tablas, Parvez Sumon and Supriya Das, and Sushmita Debnath on Tanpura.
