Search for Miss World Bangladesh will start from September 16

Bangladesh started the journey in Miss World competition in the year 1994. Anika Taher was the first person to represent Bangladesh in this world famous stage. Subsequently, Yasmin Bilkis Sathi (1995), Rehnuma Dilruba Chitra (1996), Shaila Simi (1998), Tania Rahman Tonni (1999) and Sonia Gazi (2000) represented Bangladesh in Miss World

The hunt is on for Miss World 2019 and Bangladesh is taking part this time as well. Miss World Bangladesh will open its door from September 16, confirmed the organizer Antar Showbiz. 

The selection process will end on the last week of this month. Later, the winner will directly be sent to the final stage of Miss World competition. 

This marks the second consecutive Miss World competition arranged by Antar Showbiz. The Chairman of Antar Showbiz, Shopon Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune: "We became a bit late in organizing the competition because of upcoming election in Bangladesh. Nevertheless, the name of the representative needs to be sent within September. Thus we will try to complete the event within September 16-24." 

He further informed that there will soon be a press conference about the competition. Last year, Jessia Islam represented Bangladesh in Miss World's stage. She reached to top 40 in the grand finale of Miss World 2018. 

Earlier in 2001, Tabassum Ferdous Shaon represented Bangladesh in the 51st Miss World competition, which was held in Sun City of South Africa.
