Joaquin Phoenix will be starring as the super-villain in the standalone Joker movie | D2 Desk

Oscar-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix will be starring in the Warner Bros Joker origin as the legendary super-villain dated to be released in 2019

After the horrible, misguided version of Joker in Suicide Squad starring Jared Leto, Warner Bros are focused on starring Joaquin Phoenix as the legendary super-villain considered to be released on October 4, 2019.

The movie is supposed to be starting filming this fall.

The Joker origin story will be directed by “The Hangover” director Todd Phillips. He will also co-write the script along with Scott Silver.

Regarding the movie Phoenix stated in an interview: “I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more than anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting. I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles. And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied. And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.” reports Mashable.

Although, it is too early to confirm the release date or progress of the movie but one thing we can be sure of is the super-villain, Joker is confirmed to be filming soon by Joaquin Phoenix.
