Inter-university environment debate finals to be aired on Wednesday

Students from 16 public and private universities took part in the competition, which began on May 14 & 16

The finals of the seventh inter-university debate competition on the environment will be broadcast on BTV on Wednesday.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) Debating Club faced Bangladesh Agricultural University Debating Club in the final round of the competition, held at Bangladesh Television Bhaban on July 10.

The judges for the final round included North South University department of environmental science and management Prof Mizan R Khan, Jahangirnagar University Department of geography and environment Prof Md Samsul Alam, and Quazi Sarwrad Imtiaz Hashmi, additional director general of the Department of Environment (DoE) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

The debate competition was jointly organized by the DoE, Buet Debating Club and Save the Children to commemorate World Environment day.

Earlier in the semifinals, Buet Debating Club competed against East West University Debating Club, while Bangladesh Agriculture University took on Dhaka University.

Students from 16 public and private universities took part in the competition, which began on May 14 & 16. Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, North South University and Brac University were among the participants.
