A film crew member, location manager Gregg Rocky Brooks, sued actor Johnny Depp for punching him twice on the Los Angeles set of “City of Lies.a” a movie about the killing of Notorious BIG, . “City of Lies.” Set to release in the US on September 7, Depp plays an LAPD detective investigating the still-unsolved 1997 death of the rapper.
Brooks said Depp "reeked of alcohol" as he “angrily and forcefully” punched Brooks twice in the rib cage.
According to the lawsuit Depp then yelled: “I will give you one hundred thousand dollars to punch me in the face right now!” The actor’s bodyguards then pulled Brooks away.
Brooks said he was asked by a producer to write and sign a declaration saying he would not sue over the incident. Brooks says he refused and was fired on the spot.
The location manager is seeking unspecified damages from Depp, director Brad Furman, producer Miriam Furman, and the production company, Good Film Productions.
