The ongoing heatwave in the UK is responsible for his woes
An unlucky 24-year-old man got his left leg stuck in molten tarmac while he was on his way to grab some breakfast.
The incident took place in Heaton, Newcastle on July 5. The extreme heatwave of UK is apparently responsible for the occurrence, reports The Sun.
The man did not panic and called 999 immediately. A fire brigade representative said: “We were called to a back lane where a man was on his way to buy breakfast and went straight through the road. The tarmac had become so soft it melted.”
The incident went viral instantly. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, UK also posted the images of the young man’s leg being rescued on twitter. It shows fire-fighters breaking his leg free with the help of a hammer and chisel. Luckily, he had no severe injuries or broken bones.
