Bangladeshi fan dies of heart attack after Argentina win

When Argentina scored the second goal as the sign of their victory, the fan burst into joy and promptly collapsed

An Argentine football fan died of cardiac arrest while celebrating his team's victory after the Nigeria-Argentina match in the ongoing Fifa World Cup 2018 at Beldarpara in Rajshahi city early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Selim Hossain, 45, a resident of of Mahaldarpara.

Locals arranged to see the football match on a projector at Beldarpara on Tuesday night, said Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge of Boalia police station.

Selim, a fan of Argentina football team was also there to watch the match on the big screen.

When Argentina scored the second goal as the sign of their victory, Selim burst into joy and promptly collapsed.

Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
