Shafin Ahmed had left the band over disputes with the other members last November
The members of rock band Miles have resolved their differences, as former vocalist and bassist Shafin Ahmed has reunited with his band mates.
Earlier on Thursday, the band announced the news in a Facebook post. In the post the band members wrote: “We are happy to inform all our fans and well-wishers that Miles have resolved their differences within the band and will continue to perform and record with the original line up, with immediate effect.
When contacted, Shafin Ahmed told the Dhaka Tribune: “The news is official and we will have more updates over the next two to three days.”
Formed in 1979, Miles is considered one of the pioneering bands of the Bangladeshi music industry. But several months ago, Shafin Ahmed stepped down from his band yet again to pursue his solo career.
Hamin and other band members had accused Shafin of autocracy. In a press conference held in November 2017, Shafin had claimed ownership of the “Miles” brand name under the name of “Miles Band Ltd.” He also filed a legal notice claiming that any activity under Miles’s name belonged to Shafin only.
Shafin has left Miles once before. He left the band in 2009 and rejoined in 2010.
