ULAB organizes Demo Day for ULAB Diversity Fellowship
Five fellows were selected for their remarkable, groundbreaking ideas
Center for Enterprise and Society (CES) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a "Demo Day" for the ULAB Diversity Fellowship On Sunday.
The event began with words of welcome by Associate Professor Sajid Amit, director, CES, ULAB, reads a press release.
Afterward, the members of the jury panel were introduced.
The panel included Asgar Ali Sabri, development activist, Nuzhat Jabin, program manager - Economic Justice, Christian Aid Bangladesh, assistant professor Abantee Harun, General Education Department, ULAB, Wafi Aziz Sattar, CEO, and managing director, Brandsmith Integrated Marketing Communications Limited, and Imran Newaz Khurshid, project co-ordinator, CES, ULAB.
The jury panel of industry leaders heard from seven finalists as they pitched their impactful project concepts to foster diversity and tolerance in their individual communities. Their project concepts delved deeper into societal concerns, tolerance, diversity, and pluralism, as well as their attempts to raise awareness in unique ways, irrespective of all socioeconomic class, religion, gender identity, ethnicity, and other components in the concept of variety.
Five fellows were selected for their remarkable, groundbreaking ideas. Mehenaz Zaman from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Monon Muntaka Shova, and Amreeta Lethe Chowdhury from ULAB, Md Mutiul Islam from University of Dhaka and Joyee Chakma from North South University were the fortunate selectees.
The session concluded with closing remarks by associate professor Sajid Amit, director, CES, ULAB.
The event was an extension of CES's ongoing project by CES at ULAB.
The World Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking for Global Universities ranked ULAB at number 39 worldwide in the Ethical Value Category in 2021 as a result of this CES project.
