Curtis Jobling enthralls at YA panel
Recognizing the importance of engaging the youth in dialogue and discourse, Dhaka Lit Fest 2019 has organized a large number of panels and presentations aimed at children and young adults. An engaging panel by writer and illustrator Curtis Jobling did just that on the first day of the fest.
Opening his panel, titled "Wereworld & Max Helsing: The teenager’s guide to horror and fantasy!" at the Cosmic Tent, the Bob the Builder creator gave his young audience a quick crash course on the nature of his work, and shared insights on the process behind the making of his global hit.
He went on to discuss his love of horror and fantasy genres, interacting with the audience by asking them to guess the answer to some picture-based trivia questions shown on the slides. The lively presentation was peppered with pithy life advice. ‘Keep your hobby. The thing you do that you love, nurture it’ he said.
