Probe launched to find out whether Gulistan explosion accident or sabotage
At least 16 people, including two women, were killed and more than 100 were injured in the explosion
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq said that investigation is going on to find if the explosion in the building in the capital's Gulistan area was an accident or sabotage.
He told this to journalists while visiting the injured at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday night.
The DMP commissioner said: “Our bomb expert team is on the spot. They are looking into these issues.”
After the investigation, it can be said that it was a sabotage or an accident, he added.
Earlier, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner of Crime Department Dr K Mohiuddin visited the incident spot.
He said the building did not collapse. However, the area around the scene has been devastated. The exact reason is difficult to say now. Police are working at the spot.
