Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will take part in the upcoming away series against South Africa, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan to the media Saturday.
Bangladesh team have already departed for South Africa for three-match ODI and two-Test series.
BCB announced the ODI and Test squad for South Africa tour with Shakib in both squads.
Shakib went to Dubai for personal work a few days ago and before his departure informed that he is not mentally ready for international cricket, and that he did not enjoy the recently concluded Afghanistan series at home.
Following his return to the country, Shakib discussed with board president Saturday and after the meeting the BCB boss announced in the press conference that Shakib is going to South Africa to participate in the away series.
He will leave the country Sunday night and join the team.
“Shakib is going to South Africa. Whether he will play only ODIs or Tests that is not sure yet but he is going,” said Nazmul.
“As I am in the contract of all formats, I am available to play in all three formats. Board will decide in which series they will give me rest. But I am available for South Africa series,” Shakib said after meeting the board president.
