Update : 12 Nov 2020, 11:43 PM

Summit Power, the largest private sector power generator, saw its profit fall 16.7 per cent between July and September, in what can be viewed as a sign of spotty economic recovery following the lifting of countrywide shutdown from May 30.

During the quarter, the company’s profit stood at Tk 211 crore and its sales Tk 1,231 crore, it said on Thursday.

“There is no special reason behind the decline in profit growth,” said Swapon Kumar Pal, company secretary of Summit Power.

Shares of Summit Power, which was listed in 2005, closed at Tk 40 on Thursday, up 1 per cent from the previous day.
