Markets will open at 10am and close at 2:30pm
The country’s bourses, Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange, have extended the trading hours by 30 minutes, to be effective from Sunday.
The trade will begin at 10am and continue until 2:30pm instead of 10:30pm to 2:30pm, the bourses said in separate press releases on Thursday.
Dhaka Stock Exchange in their press release said that the management took this decision on demand of stock market stakeholders, stockbrokers and investors as the market remained closed for 66 days from March 26 to May 30 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, on July 7, stock trading was conducted from 10:30am to 2:30pm, at regular trading hours.
From March 18 to June 17, the DSE and CSE conducted stocks trading from 10:30am to 1:30pm without any break.
Later, bourses decided to reschedule the trading hours from June 18 and reset the hours from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
