The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Thursday formed an inquiry committee to investigate the suspicious share transaction of two listed companies.
The companies to be investigated are Beacon Pharmaceuticals and Central Pharmaceuticals Limited, sources said.
The regulatory body formed the committee in a meeting on Thursday.
BSEC Deputy Director Shamsur Rahman will lead the two-member committee, while Assistant Director Sultan Salauddin is the member.
The committee has been given 30 days to submit the probe report.
The committee will investigate the reasons behind the suspicious share transaction of these companies, and will look into possible insider trading, price manipulation, and securities violations, if any, BSEC officials have said.
