Stocks see mixed trend in early hours

Both Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced positive trend at 11:09am but the bourses saw downward trend while the report filed at 12:17pm, reports UNB. The key index of the DSE, lost 1.88 points and the Selective Category Index of port city bourse shed 25.95 points within first one and half hour of the day’s trading. The DSEX benchmark went down by 1.88 points or 0.03% to stand at 5135.85 at 12:17pm. Trade deals stood at 96,125 with transaction at over Tk5,886.61 million on the DSE, riding on Argon Denims Limited and Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited. Of the issues traded till then, 142 advanced, 145 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged. Argon Denims Limited topped the turnover leaders with shares worth Tk 429.67 million changing hands till then, followed by DESCO Tk 258.34 million and GPHISPAT Tk 232.67 million. However, the port city bourse CSE saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX –losing 25.95 points to stand at 9546.24 points, also at 12:21pm. Of the issues traded till then, 86 gained, 108 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 347 million.
