The government unveils Tk603,681-crore national budget for 2021-22 fiscal year
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal aims to contain the average inflation rate to 5.3% in 2021-22 fiscal year.
“The growth rate for FY2021-22 has been fixed at 7.2%, remaining consistent with the government’s long-term plan and taking the post-Covid recovery situation into account. It is expected that the inflation rate will be 5.3% during the period,” Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said while presenting the proposed national budget for FY2021-22 on Thursday.
In the outgoing fiscal year, the target was set at 5.4%.
However, the inflation surpassed the target in April this year when it rose to 5.57%, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
The government unveiled a Tk603,681-crore national budget for FY2021-22 on Thursday, which is 17.4% of the country's GDP.
