Also plans to establish Economic Institute
Sheikh Fazle Fahim, the newly elected president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), has said he will establish institutions to help formulate economic policies, as well as create skilled manpower in meeting rising demands in the job market.
Fahim came up with the future plans after paying homage at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu memorial museum, Dhanmondi in the capital on Friday.
“In doing so, the federation will establish FBCCI Economic Institute, which will help formulation of economic policy planning by providing policy support on trade and economic issues. Institute’s knowledge partner is Jacobs & Cordova, the global authority on policy planning and design,” said Fahim.
FBCCI Arbitration Center is also being set up for commercial Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to help businessmen settle their disputes (domestic and international) with a vision to create a trade facilitation eco-system and to minimize costs and time period in dispute resolution, he said.
“FBCCI Technical and Vocation Training Institute will also be established to create skilled human resources to meet the multi fold demands of the country, which would start its activities very soon," Fahim remarked.
In addition, FBCCI International University will be established with an emphasis on the delivery of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and creating a skill set for better addressing the interest of innovation and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) necessary for our transitioning economy, said the trade leader.
On top of that, the FBCCI boss also expressed his firm commitment to working together for the development of trade and industry of the country. The board of directors would extend their efforts for the advancement of the nation, he added
The FBCCI leaders placed wreaths at the portrait and offered Munajat. The newly elected Senior Vice President Md Muntakim Ashraf and Vice Presidents Hasina Newaaz, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Md Siddiqur Rahman, Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed and Nizamuddin Rajesh were also present.
Directors of both chamber and association group also joined the program.
