Since 1926, each year The Banker’s 'Bank of the Year Awards' recognises the best performing banks across the world
The Banker, an international financial affairs news-monthly, awarded "Bank of the Year 2020" to Eastern Bank (EBL) on Wednesday.
Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and CEO, and Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs, accepted the award at a virtual ceremony, said a press release.
"Winning a global award is a testimony to our commitment to the society we operate in, our service excellence, best-in-class banking products and our passion for performance. I thank our customers, shareholders, forward-looking board of directors, and our regulators, particularly Bangladesh central bank for their faith, support and guidance to help us emerge as a leading financial institution in Bangladesh," said Iftekhar.
