Citi Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking (Asia Pacific) Gerald Keefe has recently visited to Bangladesh.
During the trip he met top clients and examined Citi's potential for further expansion in Bangladesh.
Citi, currently active in over 160 countries, has a strong presence in the country.
The bank is an active stakeholder of the Belt and Road Initiative, banking clients in 58 markets across the Belt and Road, more than any other bank across the region.
Keefe has mentioned that Bangladesh has been one of the fastest growing markets for Citi in Asia. He believes that the bank can assist Bangladeshi companies in exploring further opportunities within the Belt and Road network due to its local expertise and strong global presence.
He further added: “We are confident to further support economic progress and growth by connecting Bangladesh and its leading companies across our network.”
Citi has approximately 200 million customer accounts and is operating in more than 160 countries.
