SM Ashraful Islam has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of eGeneration Ltd. in the Board of Directors meeting held recently.
He has been successfully serving as the executive vice-chairman of eGeneration Ltd. for five years where he has been engaged in developing and implementing eGeneration’s long and short-term plans in accordance with its strategy along with the facilitation of business growth, according to a press release.
By being a vital part of eGeneration, Islam has been working to revolutionize the digital transformation of Bangladesh through initiating and implementing several projects in government organizations.
He has remarkable contributions to public health service delivery and public service delivery by mentoring the eGeneration technology team to develop a national Covid-19 dashboard for managing Covid-19, Hospital Management Information System for two large government hospitals, Learning Management System, Virtual Court etc.
Previously, as an additional secretary, Government of Bangladesh, he contributed to policy formulation, service innovation and transformation of public service delivery through ICT interventions at a national level.
SM Ashraful Islam was also the executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) which allowed him to play a pivotal role in the adoption of ICT for public service delivery.
As a renowned tech influencer in the country, he led a team of around 500 people for the execution of initiatives to materialize “Vision 2021: Digital Bangladesh”.
