'Ami Probashi' app, web portal launched for aspiring migrants

It will reduce complexities and challenges prevailing in the migration process

A digital platform and app to guide and facilitate Bangladeshi citizens wishing to pursue a job abroad, titled "Ami Probashi" was launched on Saturday.

Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Imran Ahmad, inaugurated the initiative at a launching ceremony, said a press release.

Ami Probashi will reduce complexities and challenges prevailing in the migration process, which would encourage the youth to pursue their dreams with a secured future by having a job abroad, he said during the launching.

The launched version of the app is a part of the whole plan, while more features will gradually be added to digitize the full system of migration process, the minister added.

"We shall be able to take full advantage out of this pioneer initiative, which will in return benefit the overseas workers," said Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary of the prime minister's office and guest of honour.

Ami Probashi app is made to ensure to minimize cost in the migration process, to ensure transparency in the system, to validate documents, to register in BMET, to post genuine and authenticated jobs- a one point solution for the welfare of expatriates and overseas employment, the release also said.

The app was launched during the program with usage demonstrations with thorough rundown of all details, which was presented by the management, led by Tarique Ekramul Haque, managing director, Bangla Trac Group, and Namir Ahmad Nuri, director, Bangla Trac Group, who created the app and spearheaded the project.

The app takes the aspiring migrants through the journey of completing mandatory applications, searching for authenticated jobs, connecting with authentic agencies, and all the way through to airport assistance features, destination reporting, and value-added services.

It is packed with authentic information to make the process of working abroad easy, clear, and simple. The app is available to download on play store.

Nafriza Shayma, joint secretary and additional director general, Bureau of Manpower, Employment, & Training (BMET) initiated the program, followed by a welcome speech from Md Shamsul Alam, additional secretary and director general, Bureau of Manpower, Employment, & Training (BMET).
