MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME

Fishermen at Shilkhali union of Pekua upazila in Cox’s Bazar are relentlessly working to recuperate for the time lost during a two-month suspension on fishing on the Bay of Bengal from May 20 until July 23 last year. Locals say that fishermen in the district had been in a state of crisis due to the fishing ban, compounded further by the coronavirus pandemic. The lifting of the ban comes as a huge relief to the community. The photo was taken in November last year.
