Palpara at Shirajganj is known as the pottery village, where the residents have been engaged in the craft of moulding vessels from clay for generations. But with the promulgation of plastic containers, the demand for clay pots is fast waning, meaning a difficult question is confronting the residents of Palpara: pivot or perish.
