Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited (BPBL) and PPG Coatings (M) Sdn.Bhd.SEA have jointly launched 'Berger PPG Auto Refinish Training Center' recently in the capital, aimed at providing advanced auto-refinishing related training services to automobile painters and the sector workers.
Berger Paints Managing Director Rupali Chowdhury inaugurated the centre on October 18, 2020 at its Tejgaon Sales Office, said a press release.
Berger Senior General Manager Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, General Manager AKM Sadeque Nawaj, Special Coatings Head Mokhlechur Rahman, Vehicle Refinish Head Subrata Paul and Brand Manager Md Abdullah-Ass-Salam were present, among others, in the event, it added.
This initiative will help the local car body shops, garages and all concerned persons to improve their technical knowledge in painting and refinishing automobiles, the release reads.
Rupali Chowdhury expressed her optimism mentioning the initiative as unique in Bangladesh and said that car owners in Bangladesh paid a lot of money for the healthy maintenance of their cherished vehicles.
"Berger has developed this state-of-the-art training center to facilitate the training of the applicators, thereby ensuring benefits for the end-consumers as well. We are hopeful that the trained applicators and dealers certified by Berger PPG Auto Refinish Training Center will be able to bring a significant improvement in auto refinish industry,” she added.
The Berger PPG Auto Refinish Training Center will grow expert and professional auto refinish paint applicators and provide them guidance on efficient repair process, fast repair, dry sanding process, IR curing, workflow, Paint ManagerTM, RapidMatchTM, color matching, blending techniques and polishing process, the release informs, adding that the training program will have four major components – process improvement, technical training, paint manager software, and distributors’ training.
The 2-5 days of full-time training sessions will be mentored by international trainers from PPG Paints, SEA, and BPBL, and the trainees will get certificates.
Vehicle paint technicians, garage owners, managers and engineers, body shop production supervisors/foreman, color matchers, and car paint dealers and their sales staffs would be eligible and enlisted for training in the center in phases, it added.
Trainee engineers from different engineering institutes will also have the opportunity to gain knowledge on auto refinish painting process and paint technologies.
Internationally renowned paint manufacturer PPG and Berger had been working together for the last ten years to distribute global standard coating for auto refinishing purpose, the release said.
