To support the government’s efforts in the fight against Covid-19, Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA) contributed Tk9.5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund in the capital recently.
Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, accepted the cheque on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said a press release.

Out of the total, Tk2.4 crore came from IDLC Finance, Tk2 crore from IPDC Finance, Tk2 crore from LankaBangla Finance, along with Tk1.5 crore from Uttara Finance was contributed.
Other institutions of BLFCA contributed a total of Tk1.6 crore, from which Tk50 lakh came from Phoenix Finance.
On behalf of BLFCA, Md Abdul Karim, chairman of IPDC Finance, Kazi M Aminul Islam, founder chairman of Meridian Finance and former Executive Chairman of BIDA, Arif Khan, managing director of IDLC Finance and Shamsul Arefin, managing director of Uttara Finance were present.
Chairman of BLFCA and Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Mominul Islam said, "At the time of great peril, it is vital to stand by the disadvantaged and marginal population of the country, an example set by our Prime Minister. Moreover, with the implementation of the refinancing scheme for the NBFIs as appealed, we will be able to duly fulfill our responsibilities towards the rejuvenation of the economy and help positively change the fate of the underprivileged people of the country in the coming days.”
