For entry, the selected individuals will have to show the confirmation e-mail along with the NID, says a BTRC notice in this regard
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has announced that it will hold a public hearing on March 30 on subscribers’ complaints and suggestions about mobile phone services.
To participate in the event, interested mobile subscribers would need to get registered and the registration forms were available on the BTRC website, www.btrc.gov.bd, BTRC Senior Assistant Director Zakir Hossain Khan told Dhaka Tribune.
He said the registration would end on March 17 and commission would confirm entry of the individuals through e-mails based on the questions or comments or suggestions which would be posted in the registration form.
For entry, the selected individuals will have to show the confirmation e-mail along with the NID, says a BTRC notice in this regard.
The public hearing would be held at 10:00am at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium at Ramna in Dhaka.
The upcoming public hearing would be the third of its kind after the hearings on November 22, 2016 and June 12, 2019.
Growing subscriber complaints against the telecom operators have prompted the telecom regulator to schedule the hearing.
At the public hearing, the subscribers will be allowed to share their experiences and express opinions on any telecommunication issues including internet speed, call drop, voice call and network coverage.
BTRC officials and senior executives of the mobile operators will respond to queries and complaints.
In 2019, the commission invited 165 individuals, out of 202, to participate in the hearing.
In 2016, around 1,500 individuals expressed their interest to participate in the hearing but the commission allowed 450 customers.
