17 best innovation recognized
Bangladesh Business Innovation Summit concluded with a call for focusing on innovation and business diversification to achieve inclusive growth and utilize the true potential of the country’s economy.
To share local and global best practices and approaches to innovation, Bangladesh Innovation Conclave (BIC) hosted Bangladesh Business Innovation Summit-2019 powered by Mastercard and organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum in Dhaka yesterday.
The key focus of the summit was to drive innovation within different sectors and harness the skill-set by adding value to the lives of people.
“For Bangladesh, innovation is the only way to achieve its vision. Every institution needs to embrace innovation at its core to survive and thrive in the age of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR),” said Shariful Islam founder of BIC.
With the summit, the organizer hosted “The 2nd Bangladesh Business Innovation Award-2019”. For the innovation award, it received around 250 entries in ten categories.
From the nominees, 17 were recognized as best innovations under the categories including financial sector, healthcare, start-up, agriculture sector, SDG inclusion, process, product development, social, public service and technology.
In healthcare category, this year the winner was CMED Digital Health Services for healthcare inclusion in rural areas. The honorable mention for the category was Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd for inhalation therapy.
Gaze Technology Ltd was the winner in start-up category for creating video analyzing platform for CCTV footages through artificial intelligence. The honorable mention in the category was Hellotask Ltd.
Best innovation winner in agriculture category was mPower Social Enterprise Ltd and the honorable mention was Lal Teer Seeds Ltd.
In the best social innovation category the winner was Romoni and the honorable mention was 10 Minutes School.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the award under public service innovation category and a2i under the ICT Division was the honorable mention.
In the financial sector the best innovation was Bank Asia Limited for creating model of financial inclusion.
Hishab Ltd was the winner under the best process innovation category for creating voice based data input system through phone and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the honorable mention in the category.
In the product development category, the winner was Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation and the honorable mention was Bohu Bangladesh Limited.
Hishab Ltd won the award in the best technology innovation and Laal Teer Seeds was winner in the innovation in SGD inclusion category.
