Bangladesh to contest in World Skills Competition

The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had completed all necessary preparations in this regard, a press release said on Thursday

Bangladesh, for the first time, is going to participate in the “World Skills Competition 2019”, scheduled to be held during August 22-27, 2019 in Kazan, Russia.

Executive Chairman of the NSDA Md Faruque Hossain comfirmed this at a press briefing organized at NSDA office on Wednesday.

Two contestants from Bangladesh – Tanjim Tabassum Islam would contest the global skills competition from confectionery and patisserie trade while Nafisa Sadaf Achol from fashion designing. They were selected through the nation-wide Rising Star Competition last year.

The NSDA executive chairman said: “Participating at the global skills competition is a pride for the nation.”

Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Sajjadul Hassan spoke at the press briefing as the chief guest.

NSDA members, senior officials, representatives from different ISCs, contestants, technical experts were present at the time, among others.
