Fahim vowed to work together with the business community
The newly elected office bearers of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI,) led by Sheikh Fazle Fahim, took charge of the trade body for a two-year term on Sunday.

The immediate past president of the trade body, Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin handed over the responsibility to the new committee at the Federation Bhaban in Motijheel. Former presidents and vice presidents were also present at the event.
Fahim said the FBCCI would continue its activities in line with Bangladesh's journey towards further development.
Sheikh Fazle Fahim is the 24th president of FBCCI. He is representing Gopalgonj Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Md Muntakid Ashraf is the senior vice president.
According to the FBCCI election rules, this year the president of the apex trade body was elected from the Chamber Group.
Six more Vice Presidents both from Chamber and Association groups have also been elected.
The chamber-nominated vice-presidents are: Hasina Newaaz, representative of the Bagerhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Md Rejaul Karim Rejnu, a representative of the Jamalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Dilip Kumar Agarwala, representative of the Chuadanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The association-nominated vice-presidents are: Md Siddiqur Rahman, representative of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association; Mir Nizamuddin Ahmed, representative of the Bangladesh Electrical Association, and Nizamuddin Rajesh, representative of the Bangladesh Secondary Quality Tinplate Importers and Merchants Association.
Former FBCCI President M Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin spoke briefly before handing over charge to the new FBCCI leadership.
He hoped that the newly elected Board of Directors would turn out to be the most successful one through joint efforts demonstrating its competence, capability and determination.
The Election Commission of FBCCI on April 29 declared 21 directors from the chamber group, and 21 more from association group as its directors for the term 2019-21.
With the 42 elected directors, a 72-strong board will be formed with other nominated candidates from as many associations, including BGMEA, BTMEA and BKMEA, and others from chambers of commerce and industry like DCCI, MCCI, and Chittagong chamber of commerce and industry.
The directors elected unopposed (from Chamber Group) are Sheikh Fazle Fahim, Hasina Newaz, Masudur Rahman Milon, Azizul Hoque, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Masud Parvez Khan Imran, Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, Md Rezaul Karim Rejnu, Gazi Golam Ashria, Tabarukul Tosaddek Hossain Khan Tito, Md Kohinoor Islam, Prabir Kumar Saha, Mohd Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mohammed Riyadh Ali, Md Hasanuzzaman, Humayun Rashid Khan Pathan, AH Ahmed Jamal, Sharita Millat, Sujib Ranjan Dash, MA Razzak Khan, Md Shoriful Islam and AKM Shaheed Reza.
Those elected unopposed from the association group are Muntakim Ashraf, Khandaker Ruhul Amin, Abu Motaleb, Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Md Shafiqul Islam Vorosha, Shomi Kaiser, Rashadul Hossain Chowdhury Ronni, Md Habib Ullah Dawn, Shafquat Haider, Helena Jahangir, Amzad Hussain, Nizamuddin Rajesh, SM Jahangir Hossain, Md Abul Ayes Khan, Abu Naser, Khondokar Moinur Rahman Jewel, Hafez Harun-Or-Rashid, Abdul Haque, Mehdi Ali, Md Munir Hossain, and Kazi Shoyeb Rashid.
