Sheikh Fazle Fahim served as a Director of the apex trade body for 2015-2017 period and as a Senior Vice President for 2017-2019
Shommilito Babosayee Parishad, led by Sheikh Fazle Fahim, on Sunday announced the names of panel members for the forthcoming biennial FBCCI election.
The announcement was made in the capital’s International Convention Center Bashundhara (ICCB).
Sheikh Fazle Fahim served as a Director of the apex trade body for 2015-2017 period and as a Senior Vice President for 2017-2019.
Panel members (Chamber Group) are Hasina Newaaz, Md Masudur Rahman Milon, Alhaj Azizul Hoque, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Masud Parvez Khan (Imran), Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, Md. Rezaul Karim Reznu, Gazi Golam Ashria, Tabarukul Tosaddek Hossain Khan Tito, Md. Kohinoor Islam, Prabir Kumar Saha, Mohd Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mohammad Bazlur Rahman, Mohammed Riyadh Ali, Md Hasanuzzaman, Humayun Rashid Khan Pathan, AH Ahmed Jamal, Sharita Millat and Sujib Ranjan Dash.
Three more members of the panel from Chamber Group will be announced later, Fahim said.
Salman F Rahman, private industrial and investment adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attended the programme as the chief guest, while Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, incumbent president of FBCCI, attended as special guest.
Other guests included Atiqul Islam, mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, former FBCCI presidents Chowdhury Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui, MA Sattar, MA Kashem and Abdul Awal Mintoo.
Ahead of the election, Fahim already got supports both from both the association and chamber groups.
He is the son of Awami League presidium member and senior parliamentarian, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim.
According to the FBCCI rules, the Federation has two panels – the chamber group and the association group—for the election. The president and vice president are to be elected from the chamber group, while the post of senior vice chairman will go to the association group this time, in line with the organization’s charter.
Recently, FBCCI’s election board announced April 27 for the biennial election.
Total posts of FBCCI directors are 72. Of them, 30 directors are nominated, while the rest 42 are elected equally from chamber and association groups.
The nominated directors are picked up from major chambers and associations of the country.
The elected directors will elect the president, first vice president, and vice president of FBCCI on April 29.
