NBR has invited different trade bodies, professionals, researchers, and experts to discuss the upcoming budget
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) will hold discussions with stakeholders for budget talks as part of its preparatory work to formulate the national budget for the next 2019-20 fiscal year.
To this end, the revenue board has invited different trade bodies, professionals, researchers, and experts to discuss the upcoming budget.
Starting March 31, the discussion will continue till April 25, said an NBR press release.
Like previous years, NBR will sit with different stakeholders to make revenue collecting more effective and amenable for taxpayers, the release said.
Earlier, the NBR sought budget proposals from major chambers and trade bodies by March 27 for the upcoming fiscal budget .
A total of 25 meetings have been scheduled which manufacturers and traders, foreign investors, representatives from banks, insurances, financial institutions and stock exchanges, exporters and others concerned will attend, according to the schedule chart.
The NBR will sit with experts and economic reporters also said the schedule, signed by Chief Budget Coordinator (First Secretary of NBR), Mohammad Wahid Ullah Khan.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the country’s apex trade body, will sit with the NBR on February 11, 2019, at Hotel Sonargaon.
The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) is also scheduled to sit with the revenue authority on April 7, while the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) will hold discussions on April 2, and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries, on April 4.
