Traders at the fair claimed they are selling goods worth Tk8,000 to Tk10,000 per day

With only five days remaining before the end of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2019, the venue is teeming with visitors as vendors are providing attractive offers and discounts to woo customers.

Most vendors claimed selling goods worth Tk8,000 to Tk10,000 every day. Most of the stalls and pavilions are offering huge discounts, and customers expressed satisfaction with the purchased products.

Mayer Doa, a clothing stall at the fair, is selling various designs of shawls at only Tk150 and hijabs for Tk200. Sales representative Al Amin said they are selling clothing worth of Tk8, 000 on average every day.

Noborupa Textile is selling Monipuri sarees at Tk250 per piece, and offering three for Tk599.

When asked why they were selling products at such low prices, Noman, manager of the stall, said as the fair is going to end very soon, they want to sell off as many products as possible to raise the establishment costs incurred at the fair.

Jute products are also being sold at relatively low prices, ranged between Tk50 and Tk300.

Kaniz Enterprise, a kitchenware stall, is offering 10 free items for buying a microwave oven.

Many outlets are also offering discounts and free home deliveries on the purchase of electronic appliances. Vendors claimed that as a result of discounts and other attractive offers, products like pressure cookers, blenders, ovens, rice cookers, induction stoves, and fans are on high demand at the fair.

Vision Electronics, a sister concern of Pran-RFL, is offering 10–20% discount on all products. Speaking to the Dhaka Tribune, Vision Electronics General Manager Mahbubul Wahid said: "Our pavilion has the lowest priced appliances at the fair, starting from Tk500 only. We are also offering free home delivery on purchase of appliances worth Tk10,000 and above,"

Atikur Rahman, a visitor from Rampura in the city, said he had bought products worth Tk6,000 from the fair.

Another visitor, Rubaiya Islam, said: "I buy lots of essential household items every year from the fair. All types of products are available here, and there are many options to choose from."

She added that the discounts and offers being given at the fair are very attractive, and that she had already bought various products worth over Tk4,000.
