Brac Bank Ltd recently received the ‘Women’s Market Champion Engagement Award’ from the Global Banking Alliance for Women (GBA).
Managing Director and CEO of Brac Bank Selim R F Hussain received the award at the GBA Summit in Jordan on November 14, said a press release.
Speaking at the event,Selim said: “We are honored to receive yet another award from Global Banking Alliance for Women. This accolade comes on the heels of last year’s (2017) Global Market Champion Award accorded to BRAC Brac Bank in the GBA London Summit.”
Selim furthered that this international recognition by GBA is another step forward for the bank on its journey to becoming the best and most gender aware bank in Bangladesh.
The Engagement Award is given to GBA members who have participated the most in sharing knowledge through GBA programs and services in the past year.
Brac Bank is the only member bank of GBA from Bangladesh.
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in New York, the GBA works for knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and research for promotion of women’s banking, across the globe.
Among others, Brac Bank’s Senior Product Manager of Women Banking Segment TARA Mehruba Reza, and Senior Manager of Business Transformation for SME Banking Shajed Al Haque, were also present at the summit.
