Bkash limited’s bkash customer app has been recognized as the best financial innovation at the Bangladesh Innovation Award 2018 for its simple, user-friendly, and useful features.
Sponsored by MasterCard, Bangladesh Brand Forum organized the award ceremony at Dhaka’s Le Meridien hotel,on Saturday.
BKash launched the customer app in April 2018, making financial transactions easier and simpler with the use of smart phones, said a press release.
The app includes innovative features such as QR code for merchant payment, Bangla text, and voice command for users with low literacy and numeracy skills.
"The bKash app brings lots of innovation to simplify the financial transaction experience of Bangladeshi mobile financial service users,” said Chief Marketing Officer of bKash Mir Nawbut Ali, explaining that bKash is working to empower more people and unlock newer possibilities enriching their lives through simplified financial services.
“This award is recognition of our efforts and will encourage us to bring more innovations in our services,” he added.
Launched in 2011, bKash, a joint venture between BRAC Bank, Money in Motion, International Finance Corporation of World Bank Group, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Ant Financial, offers broad range of mobile financial services to the Bangladeshi customers.
