Teatulia, a combined tea shop, cocktail bar and literary salon, opened on Neal Street in the fashionable Covent Garden area of London on Monday.

Tea leaves on the Teatulia menu will be handpicked from the organization’s own tea garden in northern Bangladesh.

British actress Tilda Swinton, writer Ahsan Akbar, and Gemcon Group Directors Kazi Anis and Kazi Inam Ahmed were present at the launching ceremony.

The new café serves six different types of tea during the day before undergoing a transformation in the evening, when customers may buy from a range tea-inspired cocktails created by renowned mixologist Enrico Gonzato of Dandelyan, reports the Go London newsletter.

Cocktails on offer include the Builder’s Bourbon and Lemongrass Mojito. A number of non-alcoholic “mocktails” are also on offer, such as the Chai Spiced Hot Toddy.

The venue has space to serve 16 customers at a time, and features a vinyl record player.

Teatulia will also have a “living bookshelf” every month, featuring a selection of books put together by famous writers, actors, musicians and filmmakers. British actress Tilda Swinton will curate the first living bookshelf.

“Reading and tea leaves go together like breathing in and breathing out. Go slow. Take time to brew yourself some harmony,” Swinton said, as quoted by Go London.
