Local top 10 e-commerce companies are going to host a “Mega Shopping Festival- 10-10” to popularize online shopping in the country.
The 10-day event starting from October 1, will offer huge discounts on their products to attract consumers.
The leaders of the companies concerned announced their online festival program at a press conference on Sunday.
To attract new customers, the hosting companies will offer free delivery, up to 70% discount on purchase, 10% to 20% cash back on mobile payments.
In addition, the CEOs of the companies, instead of their deliverymen, will deliver products to 10 lucky customers, who will place orders during the festival.
One hundred customers will be selected trough lottery and the first winner will get Dhaka-Thailand air ticket, second and third winners will a get smart TV and a smart phone respectively. While the remaining others will get different types of prizes.
Ajkerdeal.com MD and Basis former president Fahim Masroor said: “We have been working to build a better ecosystem for the country’s e-commerce business for last couple of years. But the customers are mostly in metropolis based and the sector cannot create awareness in reaching the mass numbers of population.”
He further said: “The ‘Mega Shopping Festival’ is aimed at creating awareness among the mass population about the e-commerce sector and we are thinking to organise this festive annually.
“If we can satisfy the new customers through better service, it would help to build.”
“There is competition among market players in the market but working together, we can create a better business environment to survive,” Asikul Alam Khan, CEO of Priyoshop.com, said.
He further said: “This event will give new experience to the customers and the sector will also be able to know about the clients’ demands and trends of the market.
Chief executives and high officials of ten companies including Ajkerdeal.com, Rokomari.com, Bagdoom.com, Priyoshop.com, Pickaboo.com, Othoba.com, Sheba.xyz, Khasfood.com, NrbBazaar.com and Hungrynaki.com were present at the program, among others.
