Pran signs $5 million export deal with the Netherlands

Pran would be exporting pasta and noodles in the future

A deal between Engel Foreign Food, a popular super market chain in the Netherlands will see the European company buy food products worth $5 million from Pran.

The two companies signed a deal at the Pran-RFL Centre in Dhaka yesterday, reports UNB.

According to a press release, Pran will be exporting noodles, juice, and confectionaries.

At the program,Pran-RFL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ahsan Khan Chowdhury gave a crest to Wim Engel, CEO of the Engel Foreign Food Group, for introducing PRAN food products to the Netherlands.

Pran Export Limited Chief Operating Officer Mizanur Rahman said: “The demand of Pran products is increasing gradually in European countries. We began exporting to the Netherlands in 2017, and this year we will be sending aloe vera juice for the first time. The juice will be available at 500 outlets of various superstores in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Poland.”

He also said Pran would be exporting pasta and noodles in the future.

Wim Engel said the Pran group is rapidly spreading all over the world, and hoped that its rise would continue.

Pran Export Limited Deputy General Manager Golam Rasul, Engel Foreign Food Group International Sales and Marketing Director Larens Ten Feld, and Marcel Beemsterboer, commercial manager of the company, were present at the ceremony, among others.

Pran currently exports its products to 141 countries, with $330 million having been exported in fiscal year 2017-18.
